General Information

MVA run training throughout the year aimed at community groups, charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises in Midlothian.

MVA also now produce a newsletter "Training News" which will highlight in-work training opportunities for social enterprises and voluntary organisations. The first copy, January 2009, can be downloaded from the Training page. If you wish to receive future issues, please contact Shona Maguire at MVA on 0131 663 9471, or send a message from the MVA contacts page.

Booking is essential for all of our training courses. Registration is also essential if you are attending one of our courses for the first time. (see booking form and registration form at the foot of this page).

In the event of over-booking, we will prioritise as follows after the closing date for the event:

  • Priority is given to Midlothian based voluntary sector/community organisations and workers;
  • We will limit the number of participants per organisation, to one per organisation if necessary;
  • After the above criteria, we will enforce a first-come, first served policy by the date on which MVA received the booking form;

Course Costs

Previously we have been able to offer all our courses free of charge to community groups and voluntary sector organisations.  Unfortunately, we now only have funding for specific courses so will be charging a subsidised rate for some courses.   Private sector organisations should contact MVA about costs for all courses.
