Adult Protection

Adult Protection Committee (APC)

The East & Midlothian Adult Protection Committee (APC) is a multi-agency partnership within East & Midlothian who work together to deliver services to protect adults from harm or abuse. Details on the voluntary sector representation are available on the Voluntary Sector Adult Protection sub-committee (VSAPsg).

The APC is also responsible for arranging multi-agency training.

Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Legislation

In February 2011 the Scottish Government introduced a new membership scheme to “replace and improve upon the previous disclosure arrangements for people who work with vulnerable groups”.
