Information - Organisational

Health & Safety

It is essential that all organisations make sure they know the relevant Health and Safety Requirements and carry them out.

The main source of information is the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), their website holds lots of useful information - www.hse.gov.uk. In addition, they publish lots of other guidelines which can be ordered. You might find their "Myth of the Month" section interesting -- http://www.hse.gov.uk/myth/index.htm

Another useful website is the Business Gateway one - which provides lots of information for businesses (much of which applies equally well to the voluntary sector) - www.bgateway.com

MVA produce a document "Sources of Information - Health and Safety" which is available from the MVA Publications page.

In addition, the Information Officer holds e-mail lists for a number of subjects, including Health & Safety, and produces occasional e-briefings. Further details of the e-mail lists, copies of previous e-briefings, as well as other publications, are available on the Publications section of this website. If you would like to be added to any of the e-mail lists, please complete the online form from that section.
