Accountability

In general, those involved in the management of an organisation should be accountable to:

  1. Regulators – for example, Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), Companies House, other relevant regulators, for example, umbrella bodies
  2. Funders – including private donors, central and local government, and corporate donors
  3. Members of the charity
  4. Beneficiaries and users
  5. Staff and volunteers
  6. The general public  (see Guidance for Charity Trustees, OSCR, for charities)

Staff and volunteers should be accountable for their actions to the Management Committee.
